Deputy Chief of Police Richard Ferguson suffered a fatal heart attack while responding to a traffic accident.
He was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis where he was dead on arrival.
Deputy Chief of Police Ferguson was survived by his wife, three sons, daughter, sister and father.
