   Patrol Officer Frank Levy was shot and killed while investigating a suspicious vehicle.

   He was fatally shot in the chest and abdomen and died at the scene.

   It was suspected those responsible were members of the Brady Gang, who also killed Sergeant Richard Rivers of the Indianapolis Police Department on April 27, 1936 and Trooper Paul Minneman of the Indiana State Police on May 27, 1937.

   No suspects were ever apprehended in the killing of Officer Levy.

   Patrol Officer Levy was survived by his wife and daughter.
