   Trooper Donald Turner was struck and killed by a vehicle while assisting a tow truck operator who was removing a vehicle from a roadside ditch five miles south of Auburn.

   Another vehicle came over a small hill at a high rate of speed and slid on the icy roadway, striking Trooper Turner who was killed instantly and the tow truck driver who survived being struck.

   Trooper Turner, from Auburn, was assigned to the Ligonier post. He was survived by his wife, two sons, daughter, mother and sister.
