Sergeant Hubert Roush was killed in a two-vehicle accident when his patrol car collided with a truck in Indianapolis.

The truck driver was southbound on State Road 431 when he made a left-hand turn in front of Trooper Roush, who was traveling northbound.

The 19-year-old driver was later charged with reckless homicide, failure to signal for a turn, failure to yield the right of way and operating a vehicle without a license.

Sergeant Roush, from Indianapolis, was assigned to General Headquarters. He previously was employed with the agency as a fingerprint classifier after serving in the same position with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Sergeant Roush was survived by his wife, 10- and 18-year-old sons, mother, brother and sister.
