   Town Marshal Kenneth Hale was killed in a two-vehicle accident while responding to an alarm at the State Bank of Lizton in Pittsboro.

   He was returning from Lebanon when he heard the dispatch and responded. While traveling southbound, his vehicle was struck head-on by a semitrailer that entered his travel lane and he died at the scene.

   Town Marshal Hale had previously served as a deputy marshal with the Jamestown Town Marshal's Office. He was survived by his wife, who was seriously injured in the accident, 2-year-old daughter, parents, sister and brother.

   His father was a former special agent-in-charge of the United States Secret Service field office in Indianapolis.
