   Captain Alfred Drabenstot suffered a heart attack at the scene of a medical emergency at the Salamonie Reservoir.

   While assisting an ambulance crew who had responded for a water skier injured in an accident, he became ill.

   He was subsequently transported to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne where he died the following day.

   Captain Drabenstot had served as sheriff from 1977 to 1978. He was single and survived by his mother, four sisters and five brothers.
