   Patrolman Walter Poturalski was killed in a single-vehicle accident when his motorcycle hit a stone and fell in front of a funeral cortege.

   He was escorting the procession, one half-mile east of the Mount Mercy Cemetery, when he suffered a fractured skull and died at Mercy Hospital two hours later.

   Patrolman Poturalski was survived by his wife, daughter and two sons.
